Name of the project: Public hydrogen filling station in Düsseldorf

Description: The project involves the design, development, implementation, operation and evaluation of a 700 bar hydrogen filling station for passenger cars. The project aims at promoting the technological development of hydrogen as a renewable energy carrier for the transport sector. Special emphasis will be laid on the development, demonstration and provision of a hydrogen infrastructure in order to allow the refueling of the related vehicles in the framework of “NRW Hydrogen Hyway”. The project is designed to finally bring this technology to market maturity and to establish hydrogen as a competitive fuel. The scientific project support will consist of both a filling station concept study including a strengths and weaknesses analysis of different refueling and logistics approaches and the development of an accounting methodology for hydrogen filling stations.
