Name of the project: ZEMShips – Zero Emission Ships

Description: Since 2008, a fuel cell-powered ship with a capacity of approx. 120 passengers has been in daily use on the Alster lake, which is located in the city center. In order to facilitate this ship, a hydrogen fuel station was built on a side canal of the Alster. Over the years the ship has been in operation, it has been proven that fuel cells have long-term suitability for an engine class requiring 100 kW. Currently, a new generation of fuel cells has been installed to further extend the ship’s period of use.
