Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Initiatives paving the way in Europe
The Hydrogen for Clean Transport Conference will take place in Brussels on 22nd September 2017, from 10 am to 4 pm at the EU Charlemagne Building. Seven major global vehicle manufacturers Audi, BMW, Daimler, Honda, Hyundai, Toyota, and Symbio will gather in Brussels to confirm their engagement towards continued fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) deployment in Europe.
The event is a partnership between the European Commission’s Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking, and the EU’s flagship hydrogen projects: HyFIVE and H2ME. Hydrogen for Clean Transport will showcase the advances made by hydrogen technology in the transport sector and demonstrate its readiness for widespread commercialisation in Europe and beyond.
During the morning session, sector experts will share the conclusions of the HyFIVE project, demonstrating the benefits of hydrogen technology both for transport and for advancing the air quality and green agendas throughout Europe. In the afternoon, the focus shifts to the EU’s ongoing hydrogen initiative H2ME and how the sector is overcoming the challenges and barriers faced by the technology. An expert panel will debate strategies for overcoming these challenges, outline the prospects for hydrogen in the transport sector, and present the way forward for FCEVs in Europe looking to 2020.

Müller, Aarhus Municipality; Dr. Klaus Bonhoff, NOW; Bart Biebuyck, Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking 2; Ben Madden, Element Energy; Nicolas Brahy, Hydrogen Europe; Stephan Neugebauer, BMW and chairman of ERTRAC; Dr Georg Frank, Daimler; Fabio Ferrari, Symbio; Nikolas Iwan, H2 Mobility Deutschland; Jacob Krogsgaard, Nel Hydrogen Solutions; Mathieu Gardies, STEP; Valérie Bouillon-Delporte, Michelin and FCH JU Governing board.
